Consultant in Gynaecology with an interest in Menopause Care. The appointment is for a substantive 10 PA Consultant Gynaecologist and Specialist in Menopause care. The post is based at St Michael’s Hospital, with a day each week at Weston General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide elective inpatient and outpatient care to patients referred with benign gynaecological conditions, including general gynaecology clinics and hysteroscopy.
- Lead complex menopause and menopause oncology clinics.
- Participate as a full team member of the tertiary referral Menopause service, contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, teaching, audit and research.
- Participate in emergency “hot week” cover and a non-resident on-call rota covering gynaecology only.
- Ensure no obstetrics services are performed as part of this role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Menopause specialist with completion of the RCOG ATSM/SITM in Menopause Care or equivalent experience.
- Strong grounding in menopause care post-cancer is desirable.
- Additional SITMs/ATSMs complementary to the Menopause Service role such as reproductive medicine, vulval disease, hysteroscopy and/or oncology are welcomed.
