We are seeking a committed Consultant Histopathologist with a specialist interest in Cardiothoracic pathology to join our team at the Wythenshawe site. Wythenshawe is a busy teaching hospital and a regional centre for breast and cardiothoracic surgery. The cardiothoracic department has initiated a lung screening programme within Greater Manchester, providing opportunities for research and innovation. This role also involves high volumes of endoscopy, colorectal cancer, plastics, and GP skin workload.
Responsibilities
- Provide subspecialised histopathology for clinical users across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, and local General Practices, including review of slides referred to MFT.
- Participate in cancer multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) and other clinical meetings as required.
- Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, including teaching histopathology to allied health professionals.
- Collaborate with centre staff to review SPA allocation in the job plan if taking on additional teaching responsibilities.
