KPI Recruiting is on the lookout for an FLT Clamp Driver for our client based in Congleton.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:30
Rate of Pay: £12.74 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unloading wagons of used waste bails
- Ensuring that the bails are safe and secure and not a risk to yourself or anyone around
- Transport materials across warehouses, yards, or production areas
- Place goods in designated storage locations accurately
- Assist with stock control, scanning, and inventory systems
- Ensure correct stacking to avoid damage or instability
- Work closely with warehouse operatives and supervisors
- Carry out daily pre-use checks (brakes, hydraulics, clamp function, tyres)
- Ensure loads are secure but not damaged by excessive clamp pressure
- Follow site safety procedures and traffic management systems
- Maintain clear visibility and safe speeds, especially in tight spaces
- Report faults, near misses, or accidents promptly
Qualifications:
- A valid FLT (forklift) licence from a recognised training body (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS in the UK)
- Clamp attachment certification or proven experience using clamp trucks
- Basic Health & Safety awareness training
- Experience in warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing, or logistics
- Familiarity with handling non-palletised goods (e.g., paper reels, appliances, cartons)
- Basic IT or scanner skills for stock systems
- Warehouse experience (picking, packing, inventory)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
