Overview

St Nicholas CE (VC) First School is seeking a highly effective Site Technician to join our passionate and forward‑thinking team.

Role at a Glance

Position: Site Technician – Location: St Nicholas First School – Salary: £25,583 – FTE: 1 – Hourly rate: £13.26 – Hours: 20 per week (Monday and split Friday shift) – Contract: Permanent Part‑Time – Start Date: 01/09/2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the school building and coordinate contractors for major repairs.
  • Complete and document all health, safety, and compliance checks (e.g., water and temperature checks).
  • Proactively address minor repairs quickly and efficiently to keep the school safe and tidy.
  • Manage evening lock‑up duties and liaise courteously with members of the public and lettings.
  • Cover colleague absences and holidays within the Academy site team as required.
  • Undertake overtime and longer days for larger projects as needed.
  • Take on small repairs and maintenance projects as required.
  • Be available to open and lock in pre‑agreed times for PTFA events, evenings or weekends (overtime paid).
  • Support the handling of school deliveries, ensuring all items are received promptly and distributed efficiently to the correct recipient.
