Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To undertake duties under direction and guidance of Senior staff in accordance with agreed programmes of care and promoting independence.
- To assist service users who need help getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and using the toilet.
- To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
- To contribute to the efficient running of the home and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interest of service users.
- Assist service users with their personal care needs and help to provide health supervision and attention through direct care as needed.
- To act as a link worker to identified service users, as directed.
- To ensure all day-to-day paperwork is completed in line with company and legal legislation.
- To administer medication for which the home has taken responsibility and to maintain the necessary records.
- Participate in the development of daily timetables of activities for service users which will enhance their quality of life and encourage individual interests and hobbies.
- Help to ensure that the preparation, cooking and serving of food meet the required standards.
- Help to ensure that rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained and adequately heated.
- Participate in staff meetings and in staff training and development activities.
- Support the Registered Manager in their duties as the 'responsible officer' for the home under the Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 and the fire regulations, as directed.
- Support the Registered Manager by maintaining such log books and records as required by the registering authority, CSCI, CQC or the managers of the establishment.
- To identify own training needs, attend training sessions allocated and to be on time.
- To set tables, serve meals; feed service users who need help; prepare light meals and wash up; tidy and clear the dining room.
- To read and write reports, take part in staff and service users' meetings and in training activities as directed.
- To comply with the establishment guidelines and policies at all times whilst working as an employee by Walton Out Care Services.
- To report to the registered manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a service user.
- To encourage service users to remain as independent as possible.
- To ensure that all Company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Support the client or customers to participate in recreational activities.
- Support clients or customers to integrate into their local community.
- Provide stimulating activities for clients or service users.
- Read and understand the individual care plan or assessment of needs.
- Due to the nature of the post, a valid DBS certificate is required and at least 2 references, one reference MUST be professional.
- Due to the current pandemic, healthcare staff are required to complete weekly COVID tests (Mandatory requirement).
- To carry out any other tasks that may reasonably be assigned to you by Senior Staff, but not in breach of any guidelines according to Walton Out Care Services.
