Direct Payment Personal Assistant Required
I am looking to recruit a Direct Payment Personal Assistant for our 17-year-old son.
Hours wanted: 4 hours per week term time and 8 hours per week during the holidays (days to be agreed), all year round.
More about the young person: This person is 17 years old and has a good sense of fun. He enjoys a range of activities including swimming, walking, cycling, drawing, Lego, visiting charity shops, and gardening. He is able to feed and dress himself independently. This person has significant social communication difficulties, which affect him both verbally and non-verbally. He finds eye contact challenging, has limited awareness of personal space, and does not naturally use gestures to support communication. He is currently on medication to support with anxiety. This person has very limited social interaction with peers.
Support Needs:
- Access activities of interest within his local community

- Develop appropriate social interaction and engagement with others
- Build independence and essential life skills as he transitions into adulthood
Location: This person lives in the Clevedon area.
Personal Assistant Requirements:
- Has experience working with children or young people with disabilities

- Is able to drive, as this is an essential requirement for the role
Hourly rate: £16.47 for self‑employed PA's, £12.55 for employed PA's
