The predicted salary is between 16 - 18 £ per hour.

Part‑time Clerk/Proper Officer – 15 hours per week (SCP 18‑23, £16.35 to £17.85 per hour). The role replaces the retiring current clerk.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organise and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Parish Council.
  • Ensure all legal, statutory, financial and other governing provisions are observed.
  • Administer all Council meetings and implement decisions effectively.
  • Develop and maintain working partnerships with local and regional bodies.
  • Provide excellent administrative, interpersonal, accounting and IT support to Councillors, the community and external organisations.
  • Work some evenings as required.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Strong administrative, accounting and IT skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in local council administration desirable.
  • Preferred: Holding the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA).
  • Ready to work towards the CiLCA qualification if not already held.

Compensation and benefits:

  • Salary: £16.35–£17.85 per hour (SCP 18‑23).
  • Nationally based terms and conditions of employment apply.
