Deputy Manager. Children’s Residential Home Chippenham. Up to £33,000 per annum. This role is about building a solid team, creating a calm and supportive home, and making a difference to young people who need consistency, boundaries, and people who genuinely care. We’re looking for a Deputy Manager who’s confident, down to earth, and experienced working with children and young people in residential care. Someone who can lead shifts, support staff, handle the tough days, and still remember that relationships are the most important part of the job. You’ll be supporting young people with a range of needs including trauma, EBD, autism, and challenging behaviour, while helping to create a safe and stable environment where they can grow and feel secure.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Leading shifts and supporting the staff team
- Helping young people build confidence, independence, and routines
- Managing safeguarding, risk and behaviour support professionally
- Supporting with care plans, rotas, reports and compliance
- Being a positive role model for both staff and young people
- Stepping up when needed and helping keep the home running smoothly
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working in children’s residential care
- Previous senior or leadership experience preferred
- Calm, resilient and able to handle challenging situations
- Good sense of humour and a genuine passion for helping young people
- Flexible to work shifts, sleep-ins and weekends when needed
