Neway has a vacancy for a Senior Social Worker to join our client based with Birmingham Children’s Trust.

Location: Lifford House

Hours: 36.5 per week

Start: asap

Rate: ÂŁ22.51 PAYE / ÂŁ30.57 Umbrella

About the Role

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to support Area Services during a period of staffing shortage. The Trust is committed to high‑quality, child‑centred practice and continues to build on its GOOD Ofsted rating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holding an allocated caseload and supporting the safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Completing assessments, gathering and analysing information, and ensuring statutory requirements are met.
  • Providing practical day‑to‑day support to children and families.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate case records, reports and evidence‑based documentation.
  • Contributing to team meetings, reflective practice and service development.

About You

  • Qualified Social Worker with post‑qualifying experience in children’s services.
  • Strong assessment, analysis and report‑writing skills.
  • Confident multi‑agency practitioner with excellent communication.
  • Able to work within statutory frameworks and organisational policies.
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality and high‑quality practice.
