We are seeking an exceptional Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to join our Integrated Care Board at a critical point in the development of our clustered systems across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent. This statutory board level role provides senior system‑wide professional and quality leadership across nursing, midwifery and allied health professions, and is accountable for quality, safety, safeguarding and professional standards across commissioned services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior clinical and professional leadership across nursing, midwifery and allied health professions.
  • Lead quality, clinical governance, safeguarding and infection prevention and control.
  • Drive system‑wide improvement, transformation and personalised care.
  • Champion health equity, inclusion and workforce development.
  • Provide visible executive leadership across a complex, multi‑partner system.
  • Act as lead nursing & allied health professional voice within the clustered ICBs and convenor of relevant professional leadership across both systems.
  • Develop integrated clinical strategies aligned with ICB objectives, embedding multi‑professional leadership throughout.
  • Drive quality improvement across commissioned services and align with the ICBs commissioning strategy.

Qualifications

  • Current NMC or HCPC registration and substantial board‑level or system leadership experience.
  • A strong track record in quality and improvement.
  • The ability to influence in politically and professionally complex environments.
  • A clear commitment to reducing health inequalities, equality, diversity and inclusion.
