Responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of public transport infrastructure and information across the borough, including Chester Bus Interchange, Park & Ride sites and Ellesmere Port Bus Interchange.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve bus stop infrastructure as part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).
- Provide up-to-date public transport information across the borough.
- Support local bus services and the concessionary travel consortium.
- Collect and report passenger surveys on the supported bus network.
- Identify and report highway defects or access issues that could impact public transport users.
- Plan and travel across the borough to perform repairs, install diversion notices and update information at bus stops, sometimes on short notice.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver the Chester Park & Ride service.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a transport-related environment.
- Understanding of the importance of accessible, reliable public transport and high-quality information.
- Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Motivated, flexible and able to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Full, clean driving licence.
