The Head of Corporate Governance supports the Associate Director of Corporate Governance in designing, implementing, and monitoring integrated corporate governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal, constitutional, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and uphold governance standards across the Trust.
  • Provide practical support to the Trust Board and its Committees to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and the Trust operates in accordance with its Constitution and Standing Orders.
  • Manage departmental budgets and deputise for the Director of Corporate Affairs as appropriate.
  • Lead initiatives to improve governance practices and support continuous quality improvement within the organisation.
  • Represent the Trust on external governance matters and liaise with regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of NHS governance, health and social care regulatory frameworks, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven experience leading governance or compliance functions within a large organisation.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CAF, CPSAS, or equivalent) preferred.
