About this Job
Weekend Shop Supervisor at Sue Ryder Charity shop, 2 Ross House, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham GL54 1AF. Part‑time contract, 12.5 hours per week over 7 days (Saturday 6 hrs, Sunday 6.5 hrs). Hourly rate £12.79 per hour, plus rewards and benefits scheme. Position is permanent and Disability Confident.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Shop Supervisor, supporting the Shop Manager to run the Stow‑on‑Wold shop.
- Drive business, push sales, and achieve sales targets.
- Lead a large team of volunteers, recruiting, training, and retaining them.
- Set high standards for merchandising, housekeeping, and health & safety.
- Manage effective stock processes, ensuring the shop is well merchandised with fresh seasonal stock.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
- Handle cash, tills, and perform basic IT administration.
- Assist customers and donors to deliver excellent customer service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Retail experience with excellent customer service skills.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably with volunteer teams.
- Basic IT skills (emails, instant messaging, video calls).
- Organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of health & safety and retail procedures.
- Capability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of merchandising and stock rotation.
- Positive, can‑do attitude, good judgement and commercial awareness.
- Key holder/opening/closing responsibilities experience.
