The Dean Close Foundation are looking to appoint a Porter to support our schools over the weekends. As a Weekend Shift Porter, you will play a key role in keeping our community secure, supported and running smoothly. This is a zero-hours position, ideal for someone looking for flexible weekend work. Shifts operate on a rotating basis of early (06:00–14:30) and late (14:30–23:00), with opportunities for additional hours to cover holidays or sickness.
Responsibilities
- Providing an on-site presence for access requests and emergency situations
- Locking/unlocking school buildings
- Preparing rooms and spaces to ensure a welcoming environment
- Moving and delivering furniture, equipment, catering supplies and other materials
- Carrying out regular patrols of buildings and grounds
- Reporting hazards, faults or concerns promptly
- Responding to alarms and out-of-hours incidents in line with school procedures
- Working independently for extended periods while following lone-working processes
- Upholding high standards of safety, communication and professionalism
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a valid driver's licence, be adaptable, motivated and able to problem-solve on the spot and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
