Job: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
We are looking for a candidate to carry out engineering maintenance, to significantly improve and ensure maximum performance and reliability of all plant and equipment at the site. As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be part of a small engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability and performance of plant and equipment across two local sites. Based primarily near Stonehouse location, you’ll carry out routine, preventative, and reactive maintenance to ensure production is supported 24/7. You’ll play a key role in reducing unplanned downtime, supporting site improvements, and keeping our food manufacturing environment running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day to day maintenance, fault finding, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems across milling and production equipment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, working under pressure to restore operations.
- Support planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
- Work alongside the Senior Maintenance Engineer and fellow team members to implement the maintenance strategy.
- Assist in maintaining records of all maintenance activities and work completed.
- Support site engineering improvements by contributing ideas and solutions to recurring issues.
- Follow safe systems of work and comply with all relevant Health & Safety, Environmental, and Food Safety standards.
- Liaise with contractors and support their safe execution of tasks when on site.
- Take part in the 1-in-3 call-out rota, supporting out-of-hours maintenance issues as needed.

- You must be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff with respect.
- Operate within the confines of Company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business.
- Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others, particularly manual handling regulations.
- On occasion, carry out reasonable and miscellaneous other tasks in the Company, when required.

- Work well with colleagues and be prepared to cover for absences and holiday cover.
- Work with minimal supervision and use own initiative.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (apprenticeship, college, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in fault finding and maintenance of production equipment.
- Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is desirable but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance systems (desirable).
- Experience or exposure to PLCs and diagnostics (desirable).
- PC skills (basic competency desirable).
