We are looking for a reliable, experienced and caring Chef / Cook to join our team at Nashley House. This is a hands-on care home kitchen role, preparing good quality, homemade and wholesome meals for our residents.

We are looking for a good all-rounder who can cook traditional English meals well, while also supporting variety through themed food days such as Chinese, Indian and other international menus. You will help with menu planning and development, resident meetings, food feedback, dietary needs, allergens, texture-modified diets and IDDSI requirements. You will also work closely with the care team to make sure meals are safe, appetising and suited to individual residents’ needs.

What we are looking for:

  • Experienced cook or chef
  • Good knowledge of homemade and wholesome food
  • Able to prepare traditional English meals to a good standard
  • Confident with menu planning and food variety (Indian, Chinese etc.)
  • Understanding of special diets, allergens and IDDSI preferred
  • Able to listen to resident feedback and attend meetings when needed
  • Reliable, organised and a good team player
  • Care home experience essential

Indicative salary range of £27,040 to £33,280 per year, based on 40 hours per week. This reflects £13.00 per hour for a Chef/Cook role, rising to £16.00 per hour for an experienced Head Chef role, depending on experience, responsibilities and suitability.
