Weavers Lodge in Castle Cary provides a warm, supportive, and empowering home for up to 8 adults with learning disabilities, complex behavioural needs, and additional diagnoses such as Autism, mental health conditions, and communication difficulties. Our service supports individuals in helping them build independence and thrive in the community.

What You'll Be Doing During Waking Nights:

  • Providing Gentle, Dignified Care - Support individuals with personal care, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and respected throughout the night.
  • Monitoring and Reassurance - Carry out regular wellbeing checks, respond to needs promptly, and provide a calming presence during the night.
  • Keeping Things Running Smoothly - Maintain clear records and communicate any concerns to the day team – continuity of care matters.
  • Creating a Peaceful Environment - Help maintain a clean, quiet, and settled atmosphere to support restful sleep and overnight safety.
  • Being a Trusted Team Member - Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold person‑centred care plans and respond to changing needs.

Due to the complex needs of the individuals that we support, we do require candidates to have previous experience, including working with people who display challenging behaviour. Knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) is desirable, but training will be provided.

Salary Breakdown

  • Care certificate / working towards NVQ 2: £12.50ph
  • 12 months experience in a similar setting: £13.00ph
  • NVQ 3 & 12 months experience in a similar setting: £13.50ph
  • 3 years experience in a similar setting: £14.00ph

Night Shift 21.50pm - 7.10am. Working weekends is a requirement; however, we do operate on a 3 week schedule to encourage a healthy work life balance.
