This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for weekend work, additional income, or a role that fits around other commitments. Working independently, you'll prepare fresh, nutritious meals that make a genuine difference to the wellbeing of residents and staff. Every meal you serve helps create a safe, welcoming environment while supporting individuals as they rebuild their lives within the community.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, nutritious meals to a consistently high standard
- Take ownership of the kitchen during weekend shifts, managing food preparation with confidence
- Deliver an excellent dining experience while maintaining exceptional food quality
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Environmental Health regulations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
What you bring:
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within catering, hospitality, or food service
- Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery (desirable)
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety practices (IOSH qualification desirable)
- A genuine passion for preparing quality meals with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
