Role:
Salary £34,434 to £41,771. We are seeking professional and customer-focused Registered Building Inspectors Class 1, Class 2A, and Class 2A‑D who will contribute positively to the delivery and reputation of the Bolton Borough building control service. The Registered Building Inspectors play a key professional role within the Building Control Service, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings. This is achieved through the effective implementation and enforcement of the Building Regulations, the Building Act 1984 and associated legislation, while delivering a high-quality, customer-focused statutory service.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge and sound professional judgement, providing appropriate advice based on up-to-date technical knowledge and advanced theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge.
- Practical and proportionate approach to enforcement and compliance, with a commitment to high standards of customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a shared service and political local authority environment whilst maintaining a positive, flexible and adaptable approach to change.
- Good written, verbal, presentational and interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with staff, management, chief officers, directors, elected members and the general public.
