A vibrant and inclusive primary school in the CF11 area is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The school caters for children aged 3-11, including nursery, and has a warm, multicultural community of over 300 pupils.

About the Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with ALN, helping them access learning and fully engage in school life.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and additional support staff to deliver a tailored and nurturing learning experience.
  • Adapt approaches to meet the individual needs of the child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities.
  • Support emotional, social, and behavioural development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil and their family.
  • Contribute to planning and evaluating individual support strategies.

About You

  • Patient, caring, and resilient.
  • Experience supporting children with ALN or additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of child development.
  • Can adapt to meet individual learning styles and needs.
  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
