We specialise in supporting children and adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury and mental health issues. We provide person‑centred care and support aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with personal care needs including washing/bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility and transport.
- Support individuals in making their own choices and carrying out activities within and outside the home, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, going to the gym, days out and engaging in social and leisure activities.
- Act as an advocate promoting individuals’ wellbeing, safety and quality of life.
- Perform cleaning duties as part of the team, undertake general domestic chores or support individuals to carry them out.
- Help with menu planning, shopping and cooking for the home.
- Administer medication in accordance with training and company procedures.
- Carry out health & safety checks as necessary.
- Follow care and management guidelines and company policies and procedures.
- Complete documentation and keep records in line with company policy.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as required within the grade of the job.
Shift Patterns
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 9:45 PM – 8:15 AM
Selection Criteria
- Essential:
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of the post.
- Minimum 21 years old to work in children’s homes.
- Prepared to learn.
- Desirable:
- Care experience with those having learning disabilities.
- Valid driver’s licence and driving experience.
- Relevant QCF qualifications.
