About this job: St Philip Evans Catholic Primary School is a joyful, faith-filled community where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to flourish. We are recruiting a caring, skilled, and enthusiastic Senior Teaching Assistant Level 4 / HLTA to support high-quality learning, with a significant responsibility in our Nursery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead learning activities for individuals, groups, and occasionally whole classes.
- Use specialist skills to support pupils with a range of needs.
- Contribute to assessment and planning to help create a warm, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Play an important role in supporting behaviour, attendance, and pastoral systems, building strong relationships with families.
- Contribute to the development and training of other teaching assistants.
Qualifications and experience:
- Committed to promoting the Catholic ethos of our school.
- HLTA status and registered with the Education Workforce Council.
- Experience, initiative, and a nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
- Able to plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality learning activities.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates confidently with staff, families, and external agencies.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Early Years and Welsh Government expectations under the Education (Wales) Act 2014.
