About You
Are you an experienced and versatile Chartered Surveyor looking for a unique leadership opportunity that supports cleaner rivers, protects communities, and delivers long‑term environmental change? If you’re a Welsh speaker that would be an advantage but not essential. Are you ready for a new challenge that combines commercial negotiation, public interest and complex legacy land issues across England and Wales? Do you enjoy working as part of a collaborative, supportive team where you can make a real impact while developing your skills? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong professional expertise, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Chartered Surveyor expertise
- Experience in land acquisition, property strategy and complex site negotiations
- Leadership and collaboration – ability to lead, support colleagues and work across teams
- Experience securing and managing land interests for infrastructure, environmental or similar projects
- Confident working with a wide range of stakeholders and navigating complex relationships
- Organisation and attention to detail – able to manage a varied, sometimes high‑volume workload
- Understanding of funding, cost recovery and value for money in public or commercial settings
We know that no one meets every requirement. If your experience is broadly aligned, we still encourage you to apply.
About the Role
You will lead the acquisition of land (through purchase, lease or licence) and its subsequent management to support the Welsh Metal Mines Programme. Working as part of a specialist team you will provide professional property and land advice that enables the delivery of mine water treatment schemes and wider environmental interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
- Contribute to the wider Metal Mines Property Team
- Help manage risks and support the delivery of a complex, high‑profile programme
- Play a key role in enabling projects that protect the environment and local communities
Role location: This is a hybrid role involving regular travel to sites across the Welsh Metal Mines. While based in Wales is an advantage, we welcome applications from candidates elsewhere who can travel to site locations and our Mansfield office.
Schedule & Security
Application closing date: 7th June 2026. Sifting date: 8/9th June 2026. Interviews: Week commencing 15th June 2026 (alternative dates will be considered if required). Successful candidates must pass basic security checks and will be subject to UK Immigration requirements.

- Values‑based recognition scheme recognising your contributions.
- Flexible working patterns – full‑time, part‑time or compressed hours.
- Flexible working arrangements tailored to your needs.
- Generous holiday allowance of 27.5 days annually, with the option to add 6 extra days, plus 8 public holidays.
- Comprehensive parental leave policy with 26 weeks of full pay (subject to eligibility).
- Support for further professional qualifications and payment for one annual professional subscription.
- Employee Assistance Programme to support well‑being.
- Exclusive employee discounts.
- Annual health check and £15 monthly towards well‑being activities.
- On‑site free parking and complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks at our Mansfield office.
