Position Details

TRELAI PRIMARY SCHOOL, Bishopston Road, Ely, Cardiff CF5 5DY

Post Ref No: ED

Contract: Temporary until 31st August 2027

Salary: Grade 2 SCP 4 (£25,185) Pro Rata

Hours: 10 hours per week, Term Time, 39 weeks per annum

Start Date: 1st September 2026

Responsibilities

  • Lead play activities for pupils during lunchtimes.
  • Supervise children to ensure safety.
  • Help children eat school dinner or packed lunch.
  • Supervise children in their classes during inclement weather.
  • Manage children’s behaviour positively in line with school policy.
  • Follow the school’s safeguarding policy and procedures.

Qualifications and Attributes

We are looking for a Play Leader who is enthusiastic, well‑motivated, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and is creative, positive and kind. Open to suitably qualified candidates who share our commitment to developing our school where all children achieve their potential in a nurturing and supportive environment. This post is subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement effective 1st April 2026.
