The Head Teacher and Governors of Kitchener Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed learning support assistant to work with all pupils including those with Additional Learning Needs. This is a temporary position for 1 year in the first instance to cover a maternity leave.

Kitchener is a large, vibrant inner-city school in the heart of Cardiff, serving the communities of Riverside, Canton and Leckwith. We have over 460 pupils from more than 40 ethnic groups, with over 90% of our children using English as an additional language. Most of our pupils are of Bangladeshi heritage, and many start school with little or no English. Our school is alive with culture, language, and joy. We see our diversity as our strength, and we’re proud of the inclusive, outward-looking environment we’ve created.
We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all model here. Traditional approaches often do not meet the needs of our learners—and we’re looking for a teacher who understands that, embraces it, and is ready to adapt, innovate, and grow with us.
This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check. Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC). This vacancy is suitable for post share.
