A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF: I am an 18 year old man, living with my parents and siblings in the Ely area of Cardiff. I have cerebral palsy and limited verbal communication. I can say yes or no to make my wishes known but am working on a communication aid so that we can have proper conversations. I use an electric wheelchair to get around along with my wheelchair accessible vehicle. I have 5 hours a week available to go out and about with a like-minded individual, ideally with similar leisure interests. I like football and rugby (watching in person and on the TV). I also like gaming and cinema but I’m keen to be outdoors as much as possible. Having support away from my family is new to me, so I’m keen to get to know you and build things up slowly. Initially, my family may accompany us until we are both confident with each other.
Purpose of Job To help me access the community, giving my parents and family a break as well as me having a break from them. When working together, I would like to do fun things.
Place of Work The job will start in my family home, with the objective of me getting out and about as much as possible. Depending on how things work out, the job may evolve.
Hours of Work I have 5 hours a week which I would ideally use on Wednesday evenings or on weekend days.
Rate of Pay £15.65 per hour.
