We are looking for a dedicated Medical Secretary with a passion for making a difference to others. You’ll be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) helping ensure the safe and smooth running of services for the people in our care.
Note: This role is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) at Cygnet Bury Hudson, which provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men, including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder. Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden, and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Responsibilities
- Manage diary arrangements and prepare relevant papers for meetings.
- Maintain a good working relationship with clinicians and caring professionals.
- Attend and take minutes at a variety of clinical meetings, hearings, and tribunals.
- Produce high-quality admission and discharge summaries and tribunal reports.
- Attend ward rounds with the multi-disciplinary team and patients in attendance.
- Take accurate minutes, summarising discussions and noting related actions.
- Ensure that ward round summaries are saved in a timely manner on the electronic patient information system.
- Create and maintain patient records and paper files.
Requirements
- Service orientated with experience as a Medical Secretary, and knowledge of mental health.
- Flexible, adaptable, organised, and responsible.
- Excellent typist, ideally proficient to RSA level 2 and with audio transcription skills.
- Calm under pressure, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word and databases.
