Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Location: Hybrid with regular attendance at the Haslingden and Bury offices; client visits across Lancashire and Greater Manchester (own vehicle and full UK driving licence required).

Job Overview

As the business continues to grow, the company offers a fantastic new role for an IT Support Engineer to join their team. The IT Support Engineer will provide remote technical support and onsite IT support to business clients, resolving service desk tickets, troubleshooting hardware, software, Windows, Microsoft 365 and basic networking issues. This varied, client‑facing role involves regular client visits across Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will also support client meetings, solution recommendations, quotations and account management activity, offering genuine career progression opportunities into senior technical support, account management, solutions consultancy or technical sales.

Duties

  • Provide remote IT support to business clients, resolving technical queries and service requests.
  • Travel to client sites across Lancashire and Greater Manchester to provide onsite IT support.
  • Assist with service desk tickets, issue resolution, updates, and accurate documentation.
  • Resolve hardware, software, Microsoft 365, Windows desktop, printer and networking issues.
  • Support deployments, upgrades and new system installations.
  • Assist with monitoring, maintenance and improving client IT performance.
  • Attend client reviews, site visits and solution discussions when required.
  • Gather client requirements and assist with proposals, quotations and solution advice.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Help improve onboarding, documentation standards and internal systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in IT support, managed services or technical customer service.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows desktop environments.
  • Understanding of basic networking, hardware troubleshooting, printers and general business IT systems.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional and confident client‑facing manner.
  • Full UK driving licence (required for regular client visits across Lancashire and Greater Manchester).
  • Own vehicle for travelling to client sites (mileage allowance will be paid).
  • Ability to manage priorities, workload and service requests effectively.
  • Comfortable providing remote technical support, working from office locations and attending client sites (hybrid working).

Desirable

  • Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
  • Experience attending client meetings or supporting quotations and recommendations.
  • Understanding of cyber security best practices and secure IT environments.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions, VoIP systems, firewalls or networking.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing.
  • Experience using PSA or RMM systems.
  • Commercial interest in client relationships, consultancy or technical sales.
