Health Care Support Worker to work on a busy dynamic CAMHS inpatient Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and accurately document observations and nursing care in line with Trust Policy.
  • Ensure the promotion of safety, wellbeing and interests of clients, staff and visitors to the unit.
  • Ensure effective communication, either verbal or written, amongst the team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, families and other external agencies.
  • Use verbal and non-verbal skills to overcome communication barriers presented by service users.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude within the team.
  • Contribute to maintaining the ward’s agreed philosophy, aims and objectives.
  • Engage with patients to undertake activities and carry out duties that have been agreed with a qualified practitioner.
  • Provide input to care plan discussions with a qualified practitioner where requested.

The post holder will assist qualified members of the multi-disciplinary team in providing care and support to patients. They will assist in the delivery of care under the guidance of a qualified nurse and support the development of trainee health care support workers by acting as a role model and mentor.
