Part time Building Inspector needed in Manchester. Paying £90 per hr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Building Control in the strategic development of the Building Control service and its operational and financial performance.
  • Contribute to the implementation of service initiatives at both departmental and corporate levels.
  • Oversee the delivery of statutory Building Control functions, including inspections, regulations, dangerous structures, and sports grounds safety.
  • Work closely with regeneration teams, neighbourhood services, and other internal departments to support joined‑up service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, residents, developers, and stakeholders to promote a responsive and proactive Building Control service.
  • Represent the Building Control service at meetings, forums, and cross‑authority initiatives at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Ensure regulatory activities support community needs and align with the council’s values and service standards.
  • Promote high standards of professionalism, customer service, and regulatory compliance at all times.
