We are recruiting for a Senior Commissioning Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Act as Commissioning Engineer undertaking commissioning activities on a wide range of distribution power system plant, control and protection and other substation equipment.
Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality duties:
- Attend company authorisation / induction courses;
- Maintain test equipment in calibration;
- Maintain safety culture;
- Comply with PPE and safety rules.
Testing & Commissioning:
- Flexible travel across the UK;
- Attend Commissioning Panel Meetings;
- Take the role of Lead Commissioning Engineer on designated projects;
- Coordinate and manage commissioning activities;
- Act as a focal point for the customer;
- Complete commissioning inspections, off-load and on-load commissioning;
- Prepare commissioning documentation;
- Produce commissioning programmes, method statements, inspection schedules;
- Perform testing and final commissioning on plant and equipment, including fault investigation, diagnostics, rectification of faults;
- Participate in FATs;
- Support apprentice commissioning engineers;
- Identify training needs;
- Provide technical support to project team;
- Liaise with design engineers;
- Report progress;
- Assist field team.
Qualifications
- Safety Passport
- HNC / Degree in electrical engineering
- DNO Competent Person
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- Extensive experience as a Commissioning Engineer in Electricity Supply Industry with exposure to LV, MV, HV & voltage schemes
- Experience with protection schemes, relays, DC and AC systems including primary and secondary injection testing
- Experience on various types of power plant and equipment
- Fault finding experience
- Understanding of permit control & isolations for clients such as NGED, SSE etc.
