About this job

Permanent opportunity to join a growing company based in Port Talbot this role working full time on a 2 week shift pattern.

  • Week One: 6am - 2.30pm Monday to Thursday with a midday finish Friday.
  • Week Two: working Monday to Thursday 2pm - 12 midnight with Friday being a non-working day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine valve components in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Work confidently with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls, with the ability to program and edit at the machine or via a DNC link.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ensure programs and setting sheets are updated and controlled.
  • Manufacture components in line with route cards, engineering drawings, and standard work instructions.
  • Carry out all work safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures.
  • Inspect components prior to release to stores.
  • Support maintenance of machinery and equipment through TPM practices.
  • Machine a range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, super duplex, titanium, and aluminium bronze.
  • Use 3D programming software such as SolidCAM if required, although this is not essential.

Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a machining role.
  • Experience of CNC programming and machining.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
