About this job
The main duties will include:
- Being a fully integrated member of the Respiratory team
- Undertaking outpatient clinics (both at the Brunel Building site and either Cossham or Thornbury)
- Ward inpatient care of respiratory and general medicine patients
- Respiratory in-reach work through referrals from other teams within NBT
- Undertaking respiratory admission avoidance clinics
- Supporting education and training of resident doctors and allied health care professionals, including educational and clinical supervision
- Actively participating in audit, quality improvement and research relevant to the work of the respiratory department
Person specification, essential Criteria:
- Full registration with the GMC
- Must have CCT in Respiratory and General Medicine and have been entered on the GMC Specialist Register at the time of the appointment (specialist registrars that do not hold a CCT must be due to be awarded one within 6 months of the interview date)
- CESR applicants are welcome and must have their CESR in place at the time of interview
- MRCP (or equivalent) required
- Minimum of 8 years postgraduate experience including higher surgical/medical training, three years as a Senior Registrar in an approved training post, or equivalent
- Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent)
- Experience in audit project and write up
- Strong leadership experience and values
- Knowledge of contemporary NHS management issues and political context within which we operate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must hold the appropriate home office work/residence status to provide work in the UK
