Our client is a leader in their specialist field, with cutting edge R&D and manufacturing facilities, fuelled by consistently high global demand for their products. This business is going through an exciting period of expansion and investment. The role will be part of building a high value / high growth sector operation that maintains a half day on Fridays.
As Production Manager you will lead a new position created to manage high volume production capability at the site. You will oversee 6 direct reports and approximately 60-65 staff across Production, Stores and Dispatch, delivering against the Production Plan. You will support growth and profitability by achieving monthly and annual shipping commitments and customer delivery metrics.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a cross‑functional production team, fostering motivation and mentoring to achieve high performance.
- Ensure effective delivery of the Production Plan and meet customer delivery metrics.
- Apply Continuous Improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management and Line Balancing.
- Maintain IT and data literacy to utilise Production and ERP tools in support of objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, Engineering, Operational Excellence and other functional areas.
Qualifications
- Experience and achievements within a high‑tech manufacturing environment, e.g. Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace, Semiconductors.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large teams.
- Proficiency in Continuous Improvement methodologies and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
