Bristol University Day Nursery is a diverse and unique setting providing childcare for the staff and students at the University. Our families are not just from Bristol but from further afield or abroad. Our children are multi-lingual and we support them in various ways, including a multilingual staff team. We focus on ensuring that children and families are settled and feel a sense of belonging in our nursery community.

We are a non-profit making charity with the money received from fees going straight to staff and children’s resources. We have a strong management team and committee, with a drive for reflection and improvement. We strive for fun, care and laughter whilst providing wonderful opportunities for the children in our care.

  • Salary starts from £28,778 to £33,002 (From 1st April 2026, Level 3 qualified, Full-time, 40 hours per week between 8:30am and 5:30pm).
  • One half day per week and a rota given a week in advance.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Provide the children with a safe, secure and home-like environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Operate a key person system and liaise with parents, carers and senior staff.
  • Plan, organise and implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of this age group and each individual child’s needs and interests.
  • Work as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
  • Enjoy the variety and spontaneity of early years.

You must:

  • Have a full and relevant Level 3 Qualification minimum. Level 2 applicants are welcome to apply (salary would be different).
