NHS England South West Operational Delivery Networks (ODNs) exist to improve care across a regional basis for patients within their scope of practice. NHS England South West Specialised Commissioning set the strategic direction for ODNs and specify key commissioning objectives for networks which have been established to deliver whole system work programmes, which are based on the NHS Outcomes Framework.
This role has leadership and management responsibility for the South West Neurosurgery Network. The network manager will work closely with the Network Clinical Leads (overseen by the Medical Director, NHSE Specialised Commissioning – SW), Network Chairs, AHPs and key individuals at the Trusts within the Network to develop and sustain efficient, effective and high‑quality services capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements.
The post provides managerial leadership by setting the strategic direction and operational management framework which will deliver the core requirements of the work programme within the ODN. The Network Manager will lead a team and promote partnership working across constituent organisations to deliver agreed annual priorities.
Responsibilities- Work within the wider ODN teams and Specialised Commissioning, undertaking a key role in supporting service improvement and transformation, ensuring right care, right place, right time for our patients and families.
- Provide cross‑cover for other network managers within the team of ODN Network Managers as required.
- Lead on their identified work stream as agreed by the System Transformation Lead line manager.
- Work with specialised commissioning to further develop network leadership and governance arrangements that will support the network in the delivery of its aims.
- Work to ensure efficiencies in ODN performance through working as a team in business support and analytical staff.
