We are looking to recruit a Locum Consultant to join our Neonatal Team in the Women’s & Children’s Health Division based at Southmead Hospital, Bristol for 12 months fixed term from September 2026 to cover a sabbatical. We are a friendly and supportive team, and welcome pre‑interview visits / meetings, so please do contact us if you are interested.
The post holder will hold a CCT in neonatal paediatrics or be within 6 months of this. They may have additional experience in other specialist areas to complement the needs of the department. Full registration with the GMC is essential.
The appointee will be required to reside not more than 30 minutes travel by road from base hospital, for on‑call purposes. The postholder will be responsible for the clinical management of patients under their care, and, in liaison with consultant colleagues, continuity of care when the post holder is absent. The postholder will be responsible for the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
The postholder will be required to take part in a Clinical Audit Programme. There is a strong research element in our department. The option to develop research to complement our departmental research plans could be negotiated in job planning if or when appropriate.
