Responsibilities

  • Histopathology reporting of Gastrointestinal specimens including an extensive range of GI resection and biopsy specimens.
  • Histopathology reporting of Breast specimens.
  • Participate in EQA schemes and proficiency testing relevant to your areas of practice.
  • Participation in Multi-disciplinary Team Meetings for GI and Breast sub-specialties.
  • Take part in continuing professional development and to join the RCPath CPD scheme.
  • Audit aspects of your work and contribute to at least one audit per year relevant to your areas of work.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of evidence to support GMC revalidation.
  • Undergo an annual appraisal carried out in accordance with the Trust policy.
  • Flexible working including working from home via digital pathology.

The post is open to applicants for a substantive post, or a fixed term contract should the candidate not have CCT currently.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a CCT or be within six months of achieving this at the date of interview or be listed on the GMC’s specialist register to be eligible for application for a substantive post.
  • CESR applicants are welcome and must have their CESR in place at the time of interview.
