Role Overview
We are seeking to appoint either an experienced, enthusiastic Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics/Neonates or a neonatal grid trainee seeking out of programme training from outside the Severn Deanery. The successful candidate must have Level 3 NICU experience and be expected to become proficient and competent at delivering the vast majority of transfers on their own with consultant support, with the consultant attending the transfer where necessary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and manage transfers of critically ill children independently, with consultant support.
- Perform effective transport triage and call conferencing.
- Prioritise journeys, compose appropriate transport teams and conduct enhanced patient assessment.
- Manage the critically ill child during transfer, ensuring continuity of care and safety.
- Communicate clearly to facilitate smooth handover of information between units.
Qualifications
- Level 3 NICU experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
