About the Opportunity

NRL are recruiting for a skilled Project Engineer to join a major client working on a large critical nuclear infrastructure project. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering professional with a Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical background to play a key role within a complex, highly regulated environment. You will work across multidisciplinary teams, supporting safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery while contributing to nationally significant programmes.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Project Engineer, you will drive coordination across engineering activities, ensuring projects remain aligned to delivery objectives, compliance standards, and operational requirements. You will work closely with teams and stakeholders to support planning, execution, documentation, and continuous improvement across engineering, design, and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering activities across large, multidisciplinary projects
  • Support delivery through effective planning and execution strategies
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and compliance standards
  • Contribute to contract management and project control activities
  • Identify and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Resolve low-complexity technical challenges within your discipline
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across multiple project locations
  • Support engineering, design, drafting, and construction implementation

What You Could Bring

  • A degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex engineering projects
  • Ideally, exposure to the nuclear sector
  • Strong understanding of Contract Management, ONR, and CDM Regulations
  • Experience within engineering design, drafting, or construction environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, practical, and solutions-focused mindset
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
