Pooh Corner Day Nursery and Preschool is looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Educator to provide 1:1 support to a SEN child. The role is integrative, supporting the child to interact with peers and communicate their needs. The successful candidate may have an early years qualification or be trained through a working-based apprenticeship scheme. Experience in early years education is preferred.

Job Summary

  • Support the child’s development, learning and personal care, including eating and using specific feeding equipment.
  • Support the child’s interaction with peers and facilitate communication of wants and needs.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment in line with the nursery’s ethos.
  • Record observations and plan activities using the nursery’s software.
  • Participate in a comprehensive induction and ongoing professional training.

Qualifications

  • Early Years qualification or willingness to complete a working-based apprenticeship.
  • At least some experience in early years education.
  • Knowledge of human development, statutory documents and the EYFS.
  • Proficiency in professional interaction techniques (open-ended questions, Sustained Shared Thinking, High Scope Conflict Resolution) or willingness to learn during induction.
