You will work alongside a supportive and experienced team of youth workers, helping to create safe, welcoming, and engaging environments where young people can build confidence, relationships, and life skills.

About the Role

The role consists of three evening shifts per week, supporting different youth programmes across the organisation:

  • Thursday: Leading sports, games, and activities within our younger youth group for young people in Years 5 to 8.
  • Friday: Supporting our older youth group for young people in Years 9 to 13, leading informal games, activities, and group engagement.

This role works alongside the wider therapeutic youth work taking place during sessions and plays an important part in helping young people feel safe, connected, and included.

  • Is confident leading games, sports, and group activities
  • Can help create fun, engaging, and inclusive environments
  • Is reliable, approachable, and positive
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Is willing to learn and develop within a youth work setting

Experience in youth work, sports coaching, children’s work, mentoring, or activity leadership would be beneficial, but no formal qualifications are required. Training and support will be provided. We would particularly welcome applicants who are confident running:

  • Team games
  • Icebreakers
  • Informal group activities
  • Creative or craft based activities

Hours

The role is contracted at 9 hours per week, across Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings.
