We are looking for an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join our Somerset Highways team based in Glastonbury. As an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor, you will support the Transportation team in delivering environmental excellence and sustainability initiatives.
Location: Glastonbury, Somerset
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of our One Planet Approach sustainability action plan
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001:2015 requirements through effective management systems
- Conducting site inspections and environmental assessments across Somerset to identify risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures
- Coordinating environmental data collection including carbon, waste, and water usage for reporting
- Delivering environmental training and sharing best practices with colleagues and our supply chain
Requirements:
- Hold a degree in a relevant environmental discipline and professional membership with ISEP or equivalent
- Bring experience in environmental management, ideally within construction or highways
- Have good practical knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management systems
- Are experienced in conducting compliance inspections and engaging with stakeholders
Salary and Benefits:
- Hours: Permanent Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year
- £5k annual car allowance
