English Supply Teacher Location: South Manchester Start Date: ASAP Role: Day-to-day and short-term supply, with potential for longer-term opportunities Pay: £140-£190 per day, depending on experience Cover People are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable English Teachers for supply opportunities across secondary schools in South Manchester.
We are looking for qualified teachers who can deliver engaging English lessons and maintain a positive learning environment.
Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for greater flexibility or an ECT keen to gain experience across different schools, we would love to hear from you.
The majority of bookings will be day-to-day and short-term cover, with the potential for longer-term placements as school requirements arise.
Working across secondary schools in South Manchester, you will help ensure pupils continue to make progress during teacher absences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering English lessons across KS3 and KS
- Teaching reading, writing, grammar and literature in line with the school's curriculum.
Following lesson plans and resources provided by the school.
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a productive learning environment.
Adapting teaching approaches to support pupils of different abilities.
Encouraging pupil participation and maintaining engagement.
Assessing understanding and providing feedback where appropriate.
Working alongside school staff to ensure continuity of learning.
We are keen to hear from English Teachers who are confident in the classroom and able to adapt quickly to different school environments.
You should have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching English at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills.
The ability to deliver engaging lessons and follow existing planning.
A flexible, professional and reliable approach.
A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' progress and achievement.
ECTs and experienced English Teachers are both encouraged to apply.
Primarily day-to-day and short-term supply work.
Potential for longer-term teaching placements.
