We are looking for a reliable and flexible Bandsaw Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating an automatic bandsaw, managing steel stock, and supporting general warehouse and production duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating automatic bandsaws to cut steel materials accurately
  • Loading multiple steel bars into the bandsaw
  • Managing and controlling all steel stock within the stock area
  • Moving and handling steel lengths of 8–12 metres
  • Loading and unloading lorries safely and efficiently
  • Using overhead cranes and associated lifting equipment
  • Inputting stock and production data into computer systems
  • Measuring materials accurately using verniers and rulers
  • Supporting additional duties such as shot blasting and other workshop tasks when required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience operating bandsaws or similar machinery
  • Experience working with steel stock or in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Ability to safely handle long steel materials
  • Overhead crane licence preferred
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) licence ideal but not essential
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and stock control
  • Ability to read measurements and use verniers/rulers accurately
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to support other departments when needed
  • Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
