We are currently looking to recruit an Accounts Trainee/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship. Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification to work 37.5 hours per week based at our Head Office in Bolton within the Management Accounts team. Fixed term 12 to 15 months. One day a week attendance at Bolton College.

Ideally you will come from a numeric background and want to further study AAT. In this position you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of accounts duties. The apprenticeship covers the following key units:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping
  • Principles of Bookkeeping
  • Control Principles of Costing
  • Business Environment

Key tasks include:

  • Scanning/OCR’ing invoices/statements
  • Posting of invoices/cash
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Production of journals to post
  • Supporting the management accounts department on the tasks involved in the production of monthly management accounts/annual audit files
  • Liaising with our pharmacies via phone & email to chase outstanding claims
  • Producing monthly reports

Essential skills:

  • Strong interest in starting AAT
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including maths
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and be comfortable with handling several tasks at the same time
  • Some Microsoft Excel skills
  • Open minded to any tasks as responsibly asked of you
