Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Finance Analyst will support the manufacturing team as they scale up the facility for full production, providing finance support across operations, planning and performance. The role offers broad exposure to operational cost control, budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and systems implementation, supporting strong financial discipline and decision‑making as the site prepares for start of production. The role will support the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Phase 2, including materials management, costing and inventory modules. The Finance Analyst will help embed robust, scalable finance processes, ensuring high‑quality data, appropriate controls and effective reporting in a fast‑paced project environment. Working closely with the Finance Business Partner and Manufacturing Operations teams, the role suits a proactive finance professional comfortable operating across both analysis and hands‑on finance support. This role is based in Bridgwater, Somerset, and operates on a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support budgets, outlooks and forecasts, including performance reporting and cost trend analysis.
  • Track and analyse operational costs, including labour and headcount, and provide clear insight to operational teams.
  • Produce management information and ad‑hoc financial analysis to support operational and planning decisions.
  • Support forecasting assumptions, variance analysis and identification of emerging cost risks.
  • Provide day‑to‑day finance support to manufacturing and operations teams during build and pre‑SOP phases.
  • Raise purchase requisitions and support purchase order creation where required.
  • Support goods receipting activities and help resolve basic GRN / SES issues in liaison with operations and procurement.
  • Support accruals and post or assist with limited manual journals related to operational or planning adjustments.
  • Validate manufacturing postings and support basic inventory and cost control activities.
  • Support finance readiness for SAP S/4HANA Phase 2, including materials management, costing and inventory modules.
  • Contribute to improving finance processes, controls and reporting as the site prepares for start of production.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and strengthen finance ways of working as the business matures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in a Finance Analyst or similar role, ideally within manufacturing, operations, supply chain or engineering.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and cost analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Comfortable supporting both analytical and transactional finance activity.
  • Able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Accountancy qualification or working towards a recognised qualification.
  • Experience in systems‑enabled finance teams.
