About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Assistant to join our team at Hinkley Point C. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

As a Building Services Assistant you will be responsible for the Main Reception administration duties liaising closely with the Building Coordinator, Security and Client. The post holder will be required to have a full understanding of our client, the client building and site access and operating procedures. Acting as the first point of contact the post holder will be required to provide a friendly, professional and knowledgeable service to all customers and visitors to the Somerset Energy & Innovation Centre offices. You will be required to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to work under extreme pressure, and be able to exercise sound judgement and decision making skills. The post holder is expected to be proactive in terms of keeping themselves fully up to date and briefed on the building services and personnel within them.

Responsibilities:

  • To welcome visitors to the Somerset Energy & Innovation Centre on behalf of the HPC project
  • To administer the daily visitor lists and issue visitors with temporary access passes
  • To communicate clearly and concisely all information to customers acting as a concierge service to the building
  • To provide excellent customer service to all customers requiring assistance
  • To be supportive and flexible in order to provide the day to day operational tasks
  • To carry out a wide variety of administrative tasks to support both G4S and our client
  • To provide support to the Building Coordinator, deputising when required
  • To assist with building inspections and report faults, defects and items requiring attention to the G4S FM Helpdesk
  • Keep your line manager informed of any issues or potential issues
  • Any other duties which could reasonably be expected to be performed within customer and building services, with due regard to technical ability and Health & Safety legislation
  • To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and emergency procedures as required

Essential:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • IT literate with experience of MS Office.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage a variety of priorities.
  • Excellent communicator with strong face to face, telephone and interpersonal skills.
  • Be organised, methodical and detail-orientated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Needs to be an effective team player.

Desirable:

  • Ideally a minimum of 5 GCSEs, or equivalent.
  • Previous administrative experience.
