Heronsbridge is a maintained special school for children with severe learning difficulties aged 3 - 19. The governors are seeking to appoint a dedicated individual with patience and energy to work with children & young adults with severe learning difficulties and autism.

The successful candidate will also cover classes in the absence of the responsible teacher, enabling the continuation of learning by interpreting, utilising and delivering pre-prepared exercises and set work, as well as engaging, motivating and managing the behaviour of pupils.

You must possess the relevant NVQ Level 3 and Level 4 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. An Enhanced Children and Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
