Teaching Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a specialist provision based in Bridgend. As a result, we are looking for a committed and caring SEN Teacher to join our team to work within the provision that supports pupils with a range of additional learning needs, ranging in ages from 3-19. This is a rewarding role for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young people and wants to make a real difference in a specialist setting. It is a supportive school with a strong team ethos, and we're keen to welcome someone who can bring patience, consistency and a positive attitude into the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Teach and support pupils with a range of SEN / ALN needs, adapting lessons to suit different learning styles
- Create a calm and structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe and understood
- Manage behaviour using positive, practical strategies
- Work closely with LSAs, families and external professionals to support each pupil's progress
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and communication skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Is a qualified teacher (QTS) with strong experience dealing with SEN
- Has good understanding of autism and related needs
- Can stay calm and confident in challenging situations
- Bring a proactive approach to hands-on situations
- Enjoys working as part of a team and building strong relationships
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
